Micro Launch Strategy: Ajinkya shares the strategy he used, to get 10K visitors from Product Hunt πŸš€

Hey Indiehackers,

This week, at LaunchPedia we interviewed Ajinkya, founder of StartOS who launched 8+ products on Product Hunt on his launch strategies and plans

⚑️ A quick intro about Ajinkya and Start os

Ajinkya is a Founder and CEO for a hardware startup in which he faced a challenge of managing their work efficiently by keeping their costs under control. So, he built a system in Notion putting together everything they needed as a company. And that’s how Start OS started.

Start OS is a complete notion bundle to manage your startup. It consists of 8 modules – ConnectOS, ContentOS, CompeteOS, LaunchOS, FinanceOS, SalesOS, ProjectOS, and TeamOS.

Ajinkya launched each of the above 8 modules as separate products on Product Hunt every week.

This helped him

  1. To understand the ins and outs of Product Hunt
  2. To create an audience for his main launch (StartOS) and
  3. To test all the distribution channels for the launch

All these gave clarity on what to do for his main launch i.e. Start OS

πŸ“ˆ It all started with a coming soon page

He created the coming soon page for StartOS 9 weeks before the launch. He reached out to people who supported all his micro launches asking them to follow the coming soon page.

This way he got 286 followers on his coming soon page, which helped StartOS to get the top spot after the first 4 hours.

πŸ“© Reachouts are the backbone of his launch

Ajinkya reached out to makers, and startup founders asking for support for the launch.

Instead of reaching out vaguely, he picked people who were the right fit for his products and created a list.

His list contains

  1. Previous upvoters
  2. Relevant people on PH who upvoted Notion or Notion-related products.
  3. People who were founders with Notion in their stack on Product Hunt.
  4. People from communities he was a part of
  5. People who asked for his support in the past and whose products he had tried!

These are the 3 key highlights from his product hunt launch strategy.

In addition to these, he shared a lot of insights on how to choose the launch day, his launch plan, launch day activities and his learnings from previous launches.
