Quite recently we faced a question that challenged the existential meaning of ValidDraft. What happens if the first few authors or the first few journalists at our platform writes content that no one want.
The question was about adding a layer of quality control into the existing functionality of ValidDraft. My first reaction was acceptance of the fact, then we even thought to add any such layer, but after a while, we decided not to.
Adding another quality layer on top of our existing functionality would mean positioning ourselves as opinionated. ValidDraft stands as proof of humanity, if we bias based on quality as well, the positioning would be diluted, it would have been like "we verify human content but content has to be good as well" instead of our current standing "we verify human content".
Quality can be a different product altogether. We won't be merging it with our ValidDraft.
