Midjourney's V7 is out. It's the company's first new AI image model in nearly a year:

V7 comes with enhanced image quality, coherence, and user interaction. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Enhanced Image Quality: V7 offers improved textures and more accurate depictions of complex elements like hands and intricate objects.

  • Voice Prompting: Users can now generate images through voice commands.

  • Draft Mode: Image generation happens faster in this mode.

  • Turbo and Relax Modes: These two new modes catering to different needs: “Turbo” for high-quality outputs and “Relax” for quicker, draft-style images.

Spurred by OpenAI's 4o image generation model?

  • Midjourney's latest release comes on the heels of OpenAI's latest upgrade to its GPT-4o image generation model.

  • The timing doesn't seem to be a coincidence: Not only is this Midjourney's first release in almost a year, but the company announced plans to release updates every few weeks over the next two months.

    Midjourney keeps raising the bar.
V7 outputs feel more natural and less “AI-polished,” which is great for projects that aim for human-like aesthetics.
Curious to see how it integrates with workflow tools next — that’s where real adoption kicks in.

I LOVE V7. I'm not sure if I just haven't gotten good at prompting or if Midjourney is just still in its infancy, but I haven't figured out how to prompt it well enough to control the output yet. V7 is a giant step better though, I think.

I've been making images in Midjourney then going into 4o and prompting it to clean up certain parts and it normally lands me at close to what I was really going for without needing to manually edit further on my own.
