[Milestone 🏁] From 0 to 1,000 paying customers in 20 months
Backstory
When I was working as a Digital Analyst in 2016, I was pretty frustrated with the manual reporting I had to do to present the business KPIs in excel files. Back then, the new bi tool of Google, #datastudio, was released in my country and I wanted to transform the old fashion excels into informative user-friendly dashboards that could be used by different departments and decision-makers. I had no previous experience but I wanted to save my reporting hours and improve the decision process of others.
Data Bloo started as a side project during the second phase of the pandemic and was born out of my passion to automate digital reporting with ready-to-use dashboards that combine high aesthetics, and different marketing data in the same place.
Results
After 20 months, I never thought Data Bloo would end up helping over 1,000 customers across the world analyze and optimize their online performance. As of now, Data Bloo is the #1 contributor to the official Data Studio Gallery, as the majority of its reports have been selected and featured by Google. This has been the result of several efforts, including new product development, improved product offering, organic marketing, and great partners. Here are some highlights from this journey:

Appreciate your nice words! The first 10 customers came once the Google team featured my work in their Data Studio Gallery. It started getting some traffic and organic leads that wanted to purchase my products.

Thank you Josh! All of our visitors come from non-paid channels (the ads are really expensive in our industry). More specifically, organic search drives half of the people (here you will find a post that I made for that growth: https://www.indiehackers.com/post/how-did-i-7x-my-organic-users-in-one-year-96f87aa6d2 ). Also, significant channels are the Google Data Studio Gallery, - the official showcase for reports that use GDS - and the newsletter that generates the rest of the traffic.
