Minor question: How to email my blogs

Hi, so I've got an email list for my project and I would like to send them my blog every week. I was wondering if anyone had any strong thoughts on sending the whole blog in the email, versus a sending a teaser line/paragraph and a link to my site. Is there a best practices on this I haven't run across?

I do prefer if people come to the site but not by a huge amount, and the blogs are like a weekly update telling people how we are progressing building our project

Thanks for any feedback!

    It's a great question.

I think the old school way of doing things is to drive traffic back to your site.

The 'new school' way is to think how you can be most valuable to your users/customers at the point of reading that email. The clicks don't really matter long term, them remembering you does.

Try to think about where and how they might be reading that email when they receive it.

Is it really that important that they click on the link? Or is it more important that you've delivered value where they are at that point in time?

In the end I figured I will include the whole blog in the emails, with a link at the bottom. That's because a lot of the time they will read the blog and then be interested in something on our site, so I want to make the reading rate as high as possible.

    1. Use email marketing company rather that email them yourself, if you sent 200 email a week and just a few of them report you as a spammer you may lose your email account.
    2. Do not send them teaser line or paragraph, tell them what they are going to learn by reading the blog on your website instead
    3. You got a nice blog with images and comment section, why would you rather make them read an email?
