I really disagree with your first point. The newsletter held my attention, especially the part about the internet graveyard. I think about that often too.
Based on what I read from your substack, looks like your a fan of Musk and think he's got what it takes to make Twitter into a better application (for most people). But you doubt he can do it while also trying to create tunnels and get people to Mars. I'm not sure where I stand here, but I don't like to doubt Musk either.
How so? I didn't quite understand this well in your substack shrug.

I wouldn’t exactly call myself a Musk fan, but I like his style, and he sure can get stuff done.
I think he’d be very good at running Twitter. Incentives are very well aligned. It’s a big task but he’s exceptionally good at cutting through difficult situations.
On the protocols and web standards stuff, I think what we’ve built so far is amazing, especially since it was only 1 generation ago that the entire planet was at war.
But it’s a mess IMO. It’s difficult to figure out where to find information, it’s scattered everywhere. I just think we could do a lot better, and you don’t realise how bad it is until you start looking into it.
I like your initiative but find the title a bit misleading. In your blog post, you describe the big tech mess. I haven't seen anything where you provide any advice on how to navigate it.
In fact, when I do CTRL+F and search for the word "navigate", it only appears in your title.
Don't get me wrong, your post is informative; I just think the title doesn't quite describe it.
Glad you liked the post. Fair comment. I was thinking of it as a sort of very high level map. Hence using the word navigation since that’s what you do with maps.
