I’m building Modern Home & Kitchen, a modern contemporary furniture and decor brand
focused on sculptural forms, timeless materials, and functional design.
I started this project because I was frustrated by how hard it is to find
well-designed home pieces that feel intentional without being disposable
or overly trend-driven.
Right now I’m focused on learning what actually moves the needle for a
design-focused e-commerce business — SEO, content, sourcing, and organic
growth — and documenting what works and what doesn’t.
I’m early in the process and building this in public to learn from others
who’ve scaled physical-product or design-led brands.
Love that you noticed the 'heft'—that's exactly what separates a quality knob from a flimsy one. I swapped mine last year and the difference in how the door feels when you close it is honestly addictive. Did you have to adjust the strike plate at all, or was it a straight swap?
Small details like this really do transform the character of a hallway. I've been eyeing their traditional knobs for my Victorian terrace—glad to hear the mechanism is precise, because old doors can be finicky. How long did the installation take you?

Really like the intention behind this. Many design-led brands struggle when the value isn’t immediately clear to visitors. Making the first experience simple and focused on why your pieces are different can really help early traction.
