Monday Stand Up! Last week to complete your epic!

Why?

That extra nudge of accountability to achieve even a small step on your IH journey each day.

To join in:

01 COMMENT on AT LEAST ONE fellow hacker's progress and give them an IH Point for their check in. Let's get in there with the encouragement/feedback! (Changing the order, because I know we can do better!)

02 Share your epic (a big chunk of work with a meaty objective) you'd like to complete by the end of August.

03 Share what you accomplished yesterday.

04 Share what you commit to accomplishing today.

Optional:

05 Share your Work In Progress to underscore your accomplishments.

Then tune in the tomorrow to share how you did on your own tasks!

Happy Monday Indie brothers and sisters!🔥🔥🔥🔥

We've got some work to do in the final week and approach to month-end, so let's get it!

    EPIC
Launch https://repobox.io to the early access list with full NPM and Composer support

    Status
I'm on track so far. Both features appear stable, so now it's just the raw grit of onboarding.

    Yesterday

    • Wrote about some feelins! 🙌
    • Took a long hard look at my product roadmap based on feedback from customers. I've started organizing everything into separate features and tracking a count of requests per feature. I won't build anything until the expected value of that feature is above a threshold. Sad to think about as someone who loves to build, but I have to focus on the goal, and that's time independence.
    • A competitor signed up! (Horrifying orchestral music)

    Today

    • Sayin' hello to the competitor👋 - They're not on IH from what I can see, so I'm curious about how they found the product. Either way, huge fan of their work!
    • More roadmap work and planning out enterprise features

    Shout Outs

    • @Wbeard for caring about the organizational/mental health and motivation of corporate engineering teams and being especially vulnerable when asking for brutal feedback on his idea via the Twitterverse
    • @rmccullagh for blowing up his 2019 MacBook like 16 times. Frequent flyer miles at the Apple Store for you, my friend!
    1. 1

Thanks for the shoutout, Jimmy! Looks like you’re crushing it.

Interested to hear more about the competitor onboarding! Honestly, you should record that as a milestone.

      1. 1

Enjoy the win no matter how small! You earned your reward. Don’t let anything take it away!

  3. 3

    • Need to clean up the UI on a users project page

    1. 2

      Thank you, kind sir!

And congrats on achieving your epic well ahead of schedule! What do you think was most instrumental?

      1. 1

        Thanks!

A few things I think were important...

        • The course is pretty new, but I've been talking to my ideal customers and helping them for years now. Hundreds, if not thousands of emails and calls. So I know what they're worrying about inside out. And that means good copywriting and high conversions.

        • Having social proof from happy participants in previous cohorts

        • A new, more founder-friendly pricing

        • Working reasonably openly (I share a fair bit on Twitter and here)

        • I don't know this for sure, but I think doing the podcast has been a really good idea. Even though the production quality and frequency isn't there yet, people feel like they know me. Which makes buying a product (which is basically 'me in course format') much easier

Hope that makes sense. I'll try and write this up properly soon.

  5. 3

    EPIC
    Danger World Multiplayer Experience - https://danger.world - https://danger.world/blog/multiplayer

We already shipped multiplayer, but there is still plenty to do. Expect a new app update very soon!

    LAST TIME

    TODAY

    • Wrap up notifications! You need to know when it's your turn.
    • I'll toss some sneak peek screenshots on Facebook.
    • Getting ready to ship.

We're up to 261 user accounts! Still seeing a little growth even after the advertisements. I'll resume my ad campaign when v2.1.0 is ready to go.

    1. 2

You should try making some flyers and putting them up at bus stops near schools, might be a good way to get new users who have some time.

      1. 1

I've put some up near schools, but bus stops specifically are a great idea. I need to go print and cut up more flyers.

    2. 1

Just talked the plumber into downloading the game. He'll be trying it out over his lunch break. Gotta keep hustling.

  6. 3

By end of August, I'll have proven whether my online course was a one hit wonder or is a source of recurring revenue.

    EPIC:
    Release the MVP of LocalChef.pro

    WEEK 4:
I need to find quickly the MVP of LocalChef.pro
Write down the personas of the users
Write down the very specific users funnels

    YESTERDAY:
I talked with 4 friends about LocalChef.pro, and I got some very useful feedbacks. One of my UI/UX friend gave me free vector illustrations https://icons8.com/ouch in case I want to use it. I will probably use some of them.

    TODAY:
I will probably rework the possible user tunnel case for:

    • targeting more specific users
