Monetizing a Community

I am brainstorming launching a design community on discord for my design company (https://www.tobedesigned.co/) and I am wondering whether I should do a membership fee for the community or I should do a free community?
And if I do a paid community, how should I go about managing the membership? I'm really confused. Would love to hear from experienced people here who many have launched successful communities.
It's important to understand the value you're prepared to offer your community. If you plan on sharing premium design resources, or even better, providing work opportunities within your community, that would justify a membership fee.
Regarding payment, I believe it could be organized through Patreon -> Discord or even Stripe.
I also aim to create my own paid community in the future. I'm currently building a client base for my product design service and have launched a marketplace where I sell resources for designers. Ultimately, I'd like to share these either for free or for a membership fee with a select group of designers.
