Monetizing a Niche Email List: Seeking Advice and Sharing Experiences
Hello Indie Hackers,
I've been fortunate enough to gather a targeted email list of about 1000 individuals who are deeply interested in AI prompts and AI tools. I believe this is a golden opportunity, but I'm not entirely sure how to best monetize this list.
I've been pondering several ideas such as:
- Selling AI-related products or services directly.
- Exploring affiliate marketing opportunities in the AI field.
- Offering sponsored emails for relevant businesses.
- Creating premium content or subscriptions.
- Host AI-centered webinars or online workshops.
While I have these ideas in mind, I'm still in the process of figuring out what might work best for my audience and how to go about implementing these strategies. I'm keen to hear from anyone who has experience monetizing a niche email list.
Any advice, experiences, or resources you can share would be greatly appreciated. I'm particularly interested in hearing about your successes, challenges, and the lessons you've learned along the way.

I'm an email strategist. With all my clients, even when they're in launch mode, I have them speak to their audience as human as possible and genuinely care about them. They will help you decide on what to create and deliver.
Something like:
Subject: What's your biggest need
Preview: Right Now
Copy:
Hey (first name),
Thanks so much for joining this growing group of humans excited about how you can partner with AI to build wealth and credibility.
But before I share tools and strategies I know you will love...
I have one question:
What's your biggest need right now in your business or community?

It will better help me help you with your current challenges.

Clicks in emails are great, but responses are gold dust for your email score as you continue to build your list.
Plus your audience will trust you and you will start dialogue and gather information on what your list wants help with.
The shy ones probably have the same questions ;)

Affiliate sales to a targeted audience is one of the simplest way to monetize.
Another approach, we are launching a free closed beta for an AI presentation generator tool. Your list might be useful to AI startups looking for early stage testers as an example.
