Monitoring for StartUps

Hey Indie Hackers 👋

We at http://www.customuptime.com are currently developing a downtime monitoring solution targeted at StartUps with a price point of $1/month/check.

We plan to continue to launch more products after with the same pay-per-use dynamic pricing model. With discounts for yearly and volume so as we scale together the costs stay very reasonable and under our competitors.

We are curious as to what monitoring y'all are setting up on your MVPs?

Do you use a downtime monitoring solution like StatusCake or Pingdom?

Do you go straight to a complex product like DataDog?

Or do y'all choose a simpler solution that is solely application based, e.g., having an email based alert on an analytics event or a database query on a cron that sends alerts?

We appreciate everyone who answers and helps us build a great product to support developers out there!

Much Love 💙

UptimeRobot. I paid for SMS in the past for a commercial site. For side projects free is good enough.

      Thanks for the reply!

That makes a lot of sense. I've used UptimeRobot for projects as well.

For commercial projects I've generally used like StatusCake or something because of the integrations.

We plan to start with Email, SMS, and Slack.

Then our first customers can help us prioritize which integrations to create next.
