Month 2, About to Break $100 in Affiliate Revenue with Codeless Side Hustle
My wife and I have built a curated Amazon affiliate shop within the home & lifestyle space since it is quite relevant to us as young parents. I've always wanted to build something with Amazon Affiliate at its core, and learn the ropes of digital marketing along the way. My wife understands what products resonate with our users and acts our the shop's 'buyer' and personality, and as a UX / web designer by trade, I handle the technical / visual side.
We are in month 2 of this side project and are averaging $49.95 /mo in affiliate revenue, with 660 users/mo, and roughly 1,200 pageviews/mo. Just over 10% of the users that click on our product links to Amazon, end up buying something, about 60% of our users are on mobile.
We are currently leveraging Pinterest and Instagram as our main marketing platforms and want to focus on those for now and try to do them really well. Pinterest accounts for about 80% of our traffic.
We were inspired by the This is Why I'm Broke structure and were curious if it would be viable for the home décor & lifestyle niches. We're currently exploring various ways to curate our products into more useful collections (Design a Farmhouse Entryway, Essentials for Decluttering Your Small Bedroom, etc.).

What is your stack? Wordpress and Woocommerce?
Yep. I also am utilizing WZone to import products, and there's a Chrome extension that works with that to allow importing from an Amazon product page right to your WooCommerce shop as an unpublish product.
The more time-consuming tasks are optimizing the images in Photoshop / Sketch, rewriting some product descriptions and titles, tagging, and linking to other products if relevant. Then I have an Auto-Pinterest publishing plugin that lets you set the board, tag, image, description, titles, and hashtags right from the product editor page on Wordpress. So once all that is set, then I'll publish the product.

There are a number of other plugins (some free, some not) and this one ended up being the easiest to configure and had all the capabilities I was looking for. The most useful one is being able to automatically map a Wordpress category to a Pinterest board. This gets really handy if you start posting a ton of products.
