More than one side project at a time - good idea or bad idea?

I'm currently working on a whopping 4 (!) side projects. It helps keep things very fresh all the time and I don't find myself sitting twiddling my thumbs while blocked on any single one of those projects. But it does make it hard to prioritize which one to give most focus and attention to.

Do you work on multiple side projects/indie hacks? What's your experience and how do you balance it all?

Personally I really like working on multiple projects at the same time. It helps with my creativity and gives me constant new perspectives to the other projects.

I see x is working for one project and think about ways to leverage that knowledge for another project.

I procrastinate on working on a project by working on another project. So yeah, could work if you have the time and mindset for it! :D

This. This is exactly what I’m afraid I’m doing. Working on another project as a way of avoiding some painful part on the first project

For the painful parts I usually either wait until I have a burst of energy or I just sit down and force myself to at least start with it - even if it's some small things - it helps a lot!
