One thing that surprised me after launching Newsletter Reader by Bilig (App Store ):
Very few people question the core idea.
The moment you explain “a dedicated app for reading newsletters instead of managing them through your inbox”, most people immediately get it.
What people do question is their own behaviour and whether they can actually break their habit of doomscrolling.
I think the issue is consistency more than willpower. Most people already found great writers and publications. The problem is that it is difficult to leave old, destructive habits and take up productive habits instead..
That’s basically the workflow Newsletter Reader by Bilig is trying to improve by separating newsletters from communication and make reading feel intentional again.
Still very early, but interesting to watch users instantly understand the problem without much explanation.
