Most SaaS feedback tools assume you have time, I built one that doesn’t

If you are running a SaaS product, feedback is one of the most important things for you as a founder.

But setting up and collecting feedback is not where your time should go. Ideally it should run effectively on autopilot while you focus on improving your core product offering.

This is something I personally struggled with. I don’t really enjoy chasing users for feedback manually (calls, emails, etc), most people don’t.

When I started researching this space, I saw that many tools exist. But most of them still expect you to actively manage feedback collection.

If feels like all you have to do is create surveys from pre built templates. But you also have to configure display triggers, visibility delays, setup events, repeat frequency, survey gaps, targeting, and so much more.

If we talk about SaaS specifically, the questions you need to ask are not random. There’s a fairly standard set of signals most products should be collecting:

  • where users discovered you from

  • how onboarding felt

  • early activation friction

  • NPS and loyalty

  • churn reasons

  • PMF signals

So while building my product, I designed Pulseahead around one simple idea:

Feedback should happen inside the product, while users are already using it, it should mostly run on its own, and setup should require minimal time.

This meant as a saas owner/team don't have to figure out what to ask and how to configure everything properly.

So I created an opinionated SaaS feedback pack.

It includes the key surveys most SaaS teams should run, already configured with sensible triggers, delays, and timing based on typical user journeys.

Instead of setting everything up from scratch, you just install the script, pass your user ID so responses map to your system users, and deploy.

Curious how others here handle this.

Do you chase feedback with calls and emails, or rely mostly on in-product signals?

If you’ve tried feedback tools before, what was the most frustrating part about them?
