Most startup die from obscurity than from being copied by copycats

Am I only in this observation?

    Tim O'Reilly famously said,

"Obscurity is a far greater threat to authors and creative artists than piracy."

So you are not the only person in this observation. But it is true, nonetheless. The real enemy of any early thing is obscurity.

Definitely. There’s a lot of solo founders that don’t understand the value of marketing, how to build product awareness, and converting sales.

The phrase “build it and they will come” is so far from the truth. More founders need to recognize this to be successful once they’ve built a good product.

I fully agree. A great product that no one knows about is a surefire way to failure. A product that is too easy to copy, btw, is also a common way to fail. If your product does not have a moat, what stops anyone from copying it?
