Motivating Users With Discord Roles

Today I'm starting a test to see if some public Discord roles will motivate the members of my Discord server to take more action in the community.

I have 104 members on my Discord at the moment.

These are the roles you can get:

  • Bug Hunter: If you report new bugs or regressions and these get fixed.
  • Rogue Dev: When you #showcase the stuff that you're building with Rogue Engine.
  • Publisher: When you publish a package in https://marketplace.rogueengine.io/
  • Show Off: The highest praise for the best of the best. #showcase the coolest stuff to get this role.

Let me know what you think. I'm trying to come out with a role for people who request features and these get pushed.

I'll let you know how it goes.

I LOVE this idea. It reminds me of this article: https://julian.digital/2020/03/28/signaling-as-a-service/

Whenever you can harness "status" to your benefit - that's a powerful motivator.

I'd like to know how it goes once implemented.

Thank you @RamosWriter. Wow that article goes in depth. Made me feel more confident about this strategy.

I've been pondering about this subject in what concerns pricing for digital services. I was thinking, if higher tiers had something (even just a badge) that could be publicly seen by other users, some would decide to go for it for the sake of signaling.

      I'll report back the results!
