Big changes are coming to WeTransfer—and not in a good way.
Starting August 2025, anything you upload to WeTransfer can be used for AI training, public display, and commercial purposes, all without compensation, permission, or even notice.
Yes, seriously. According to their new terms (§6.3):
“Perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, sub-licensable license… to reproduce, distribute, modify… and perform content.”
Like many others who work with sensitive files, we found that unacceptable.
So…
We built the alternative.

🔐 Why MoveMyFiles?
MoveMyFiles is a fast, secure, and modern file transfer platform designed for people who care about ownership, trust, and user control.
We don’t claim rights to your content. We don’t train AI on your files. We don’t resell your data.
Here’s what you get:
• ✅ No upload size limits
• ✅ End-to-end encryption
• ✅ Super-fast transfers
• ✅ No tracking or forced signups
• ✅ EU-based hosting (no Cloud Act risks)
• ✅ Built with privacy-first architecture
Whether you’re a freelancer, startup, lawyer, agency, or creative—you stay in full control of what you share.
⸻
🧨 Why we built it (the backstory)
When WeTransfer dropped their updated terms, it felt like a betrayal. Many of us chose them over Big Tech alternatives specifically to avoid things like AI training and opaque data policies.
Now they’re offering:
• 🚫 Perpetual usage rights over YOUR files
• 🚫 Royalty-free redistribution
• 🚫 AI training rights
• 🚫 Sub-licensing to unknown third parties
Even though WeTransfer is EU-based, their new policies resemble everything we’ve been trying to avoid in American platforms.
It was the final straw.
⸻
⚒️ So we hacked a solution
Within weeks, we built MoveMyFiles.com:
A clean, transparent, high-speed file transfer service that puts users first. We’re now live and looking for feedback.
⸻
🧪 Try it out – Help us improve!
We’re indie and early. Your feedback means the world.
