Hi everyone!
I want to share my journey of transforming my project from a B2C platform to a B2B solution and the reasons behind this shift.
I originally created CourseCrumbs as a B2C platform with the idea of making a YouTube-like experience for mini interactive courses. It took nearly eight months to build the MVP and test various marketing channels. However, I soon realized that making money from this model would be extremely challenging. The B2C approach required building a large catalog of courses and attracting numerous quality creators, which proved to be a daunting task.
The goal was to make learning flexible, fun, and engaging through CourseCrumbs. But as the project consumed more time, I decided to explore different avenues to make it financially viable.
Transition to B2B: Discovering New Opportunities
Exploring the world of corporate learning management systems, I identified an opportunity to create a hybrid platform. This led to the evolution of CourseCrumbs into SkillsRace, a solution that combines the user-generated content style of YouTube with the structured approach of corporate learning systems.
Solving Real Problems with SkillsRace
Flexible Learning: SkillsRace offers mini-courses that can be accessed anytime, anywhere, and on any device. Got only 15 minutes? No problem.
Increased Motivation: Through gamification, rewards, and friendly competition, SkillsRace motivates continuous learning.
Easy Course Creation: SkillsRace Studio simplifies course creation. With AI, courses can be created in just 2 minutes, and they are compatible with any device.
Knowledge Sharing: SkillsRace empowers everyone in the company to create and share knowledge. Employees can create content, pass editorial review, and share it with colleagues, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
Ultimately, I aim to create a platform where anyone—whether an employee or student—will be highly motivated to learn daily, create mini-courses, and share knowledge.
Main Points of SkillsRace
Target Audience
Initially, my focus is on companies with 50 to 1,000,000 employees. Schools, universities, and even individual educators are also in my sights. I plan to include monetization options for educators, such as monthly subscriptions, so they can manage their students and earn more from them.
Future Plans
The project is about 80% complete. Some important modules still need to be finished, and everything needs to be polished and tested thoroughly. However, I believe it is the right time to start some marketing efforts.
My strategy includes using LinkedIn, cold emails, and Google Ads. The goal is to attract the first 100 companies with a compelling offer: 6 months free, a 50% lifetime deal, premium support, and feature requests. The idea is to revolutionize the learning process in these companies.
Reflecting on My Decision
Shifting from B2C to B2B was not an easy decision, but it has opened up new opportunities and avenues for growth. By focusing on corporate learning and knowledge sharing, I believe SkillsRace can make a significant impact and become a profitable venture. What do you think about this transition?
