Mozilla Investing $75k & $16k in Startups + Projects

Hey all, I'm back to announce Mozilla's new Summer Program. https://mozilla.org/builders

We're trying to help startups & projects build apps that the world needs. This time around we're investing $75k in startups and $16k in earlier stage projects. Our Open Labs is also running again, with 10 $10k prizes for community voted best projects.

There were a number of people from the IH community around for our Spring Program and I want to invite you all again to be a part of Summer.

More details for what we're looking for can be found on https://builders.mozilla.community/who-we-fund

BUT here's a short list:

  1. Massive internet categories that shape our lives online
  2. Privacy & no surveillance capitalism
  3. Disruptive blockchain & distributed web
  4. Developer tools

So if you believe you're building something that can change the shape of the internet (GitHub, FireFox, Brave, Kickstarter, …), and have strong values and want to make a dent in the internet world, then for sure APPLY!

Thanks for sharing. I have applied. This is a valuable share.

Certainly looks interesting. However, you're disqualified as a sole proprietor for the Startup Studio? And you'd have to give up close to 4% of equity?

What's the deal with the MVP Lab? What do I have do give up for the $16k for that program?

you are not disqualified as a sole proprietor, BUT the idea is to build a company -- meaning you'll need to hire employees, etc. eventually. This would mean that you would eventually need to incorporate.

MVP Lab is no strings attached.

Absolutely. That's the plan. Thanks for the clarification!
