https://twitter.com/maximehugodupre/status/1549394418230231052

How did you feel when you got your first payment from Stripe/Paddle? 😁

This is a foreign feeling for me 😅 I love it, but at the same time I want more 🥹

    Congrats man!!
You are number is bigger than me. As my one is 0 :)

    1. 1

Thanks 😊 Hah, we all gotta start somewhere 😁 Keep it up!

  2. 3

Congratulations! Almost seven years later, I still remember our first transaction for Tettra. I actually processed it manually over the phone in Stripe after a demo because we hadn't actually implemented a proper billing system yet.

    1. 2

Wow! 7 years ago! Amazing 😎

That is a true MVP Andy 🤣 Luckily we have Stripe Checkout now that lets us spend minimal time on the integration 😁

      Thanks dude 🙏

  3. 3

    Congratulations, Maxime! 👍

    1. 2

      Thank you sir 🫡

  4. 2

I had the same feeling when I used to be an affiliate marketer..it's amazing.

    Congratulations.!

    1. 2

Nice dude! I tried doing affiliate marketing in the past, but it wasn't for me 😁

I love the simplicity of it and the fact that it's so easy to get started. All you need is a blog or some social presence 👌

I love building too much though 😆

      Thank you!!

  5. 2

Cherish it! I'm working on a client product that might become a niche saas, but for now, only my Medium income is MRR (about $30 as well).

Validation is there, like a little plant growing out of the soil. Now cherish it, nurture your users and grow into that bigger SaaS!

    Congrats!

    1. 1

      Thanks Edwin 😊

Validation is there, like a little plant growing out of the soil. Now cherish it, nurture your users and grow into that bigger SaaS!

That is the plan 😎 The only constant I have is my hard work. Not stopping until I get what I want 😁🔥

  6. 2

    Congrats man!

    1. 1

      Thanks Josef 🚀

  7. 2

Congrats! I know this feeling, that's exciting, but it's addicting. You'll want more soon

    1. 2

Thank you 😊 Soon? I wanted more the second I got some 😆

  8. 2

Hey, congrats @maximedupre! As someone that recently also started making MRR, it feels really great. It took me at least a few failures to figure out how to get here, and I look forward to growing more in future.

    1. 2

Thanks Mike 😇 It sounds like we have the same journey 😁 Some failures, getting better with every attempt 😎

  9. 2

    Congrats!!🎉
I am still a long way from getting my first revenue. Currently working on a major update. Hope to soon take serpto.com beta.

    1. 1

Thanks 😊 Serpto looks pretty cool 👌 Keep it up, I wish you only the best 😎

  10. 2

Congrats Maxime! Onwards and upwards :)

  11. 2

    I'm happy for you :)
I'm on the way to getting my first MRR

    1. 1

Thanks Ortiz 😎 OMW to ramen profitability (one day soon 😆)

  12. 2

Great to see! Excited to get to that point too!

    1. 1

Nice! What are you working on? 😇

      1. 2

B2B Slack app to help orgs spend less time searching and more time working. Files found easier!

        1. 1

Very cool idea! Good luck 😎

  13. 2

This is the beginning of something great.

    Excellent work.

    1. 1

      Thanks Dan 😶 I hope so 😁

  14. 2

    Very well man!

    Congratulation!

    1. 2

      Thanks Dom 😊

Just working hard and doing my best 😁

  15. 2

I can remember my first paid subscription. It was a Saturday afternoon after I launched the paid plan in the morning. It was a memorable feeling! Congrats, Maxime; keep the good work!

    1. 1

That's awesome Pradella. You also got users the same day you put it online? 🤩

That is a great feeling 😁

Thanks 🙏 Right back at you 😎

      1. 1

Actually, my SaaS was running for 1 year in freemium mode, so when I decided to launch a free plan I had several people already using it and decided to pay since then.

        1. 1

That's a good strategy 👌 You already had your product somewhat validated before you even charged people 🙌

  16. 2

Haven’t had the chance to experience that feeling yet, but I’m really happy for you! It must be incredibly validating :) Congratulations Maxime!

    1. 1

      Thanks Nina 😊

It's a small validation, but I'm quick to discard it as I chase bigger milestones 😅 But yeah, gotta work on celebrating the small wins also.

And keep it up, you will surely get your first MRR if you want to 😎

  17. 2

Congrats @maximedupre! Good job in taking the time to recognise it too.

All too often I don't take the time to celebrate an achievement, but it's critical in such a long journey.

    Big up! 👊🏽

    1. 1

      Hey, thanks Ivor 😎

It's hard to celebrate because you don't want to stop working 😅 It's a mixture of pure excitement and insatisfaction 😆

Gotta work on celebrating the small milestones of the journey 😊

  18. 2

Congrats! Keep up the great work

    1. 1

Thanks Umut 🙏 Keep up I will 😎

  19. 2

    So exciting, congratulations Maxime :)
That's like fuel to keep going, and reach the next milestone!

    1. 1

      Mathilde! Yes! Exciting 🤩

That's definitely fuel. I also get fuel from all the other indie maker's successes. It's an amazing community 🔥

  20. 2

    Thanks for Sharing USeful Article

    1. 1

      Thanks Auaureo 😶

  21. 2

I remember I went to get a cold shower to calm me down from excitement. Congrats!

    1. 1

LOL! Yeah, the nerves you get when you hear that notification 😂 You just keep refreshing the page like a maniac.

      Thanks Sergey 😎

  22. 2

My first MRR is 1 dollar, so yeah, not exactly how you felt.

    1. 1

I'm sure that's equally as amazing... you just need more of them 🤣

  23. 2

Congratulation! You should buy yourself a small gift for you with part of this money, so that later you could say "I bought this with my first revenue on this business".

    1. 1

Hmmm, that's a great idea Anthony 🤔 I'll think of something cool I can keep 🙏

  24. 2

    Congratulations!

    1. 2

Thanks Marvin 🤩 Love Pirsch as you know 😁

  25. 2

for me, finding the first sale is a 50% success rate. According to statistics, it takes 1 year for the first 10 sales, for 100 sales - half a year, for 1000 sales - 3 months

    1. 1

That's inspiring! It shows that consistency compounds over time 👌 Just gotta keep working.

Rule #1: Do. Not. Stop 🙏

  26. 2

Congratulations Maxime. The little wins matter a lot.

    1. 2

Thanks David 😎 One baby step at a time 🚀

    1. 1

Hah it's the best Pragyan. A mix of excitement and insatisfaction 🤣

  27. 2

    A big congratulations!

    1. 1

      Thanks a lot 😍

  28. 2

Nice done. Don't stop and move forward.

    1. 1

      Thanks Mark. Absolutely.

There is only one rule: Do. Not. Quit. 🔥

  29. 2

may I know how you approach your customers?

    1. 1

Thanks for the comment 😊 I just DMed the people the seemed interested 😇

I make daily tweets about me building in public, so I contact people that show interest.

  30. 2

now get to 1M ;) thats the next milestone

    1. 1

Haha my name is not Pieter Levels 😆

      It's gonna take a while 😜

      Next milestone: Ramen Profitability 🥹

  31. 2

It was an amazing feeling. So validating!

    1. 1

      🤩

Now just gotta find a way to consistently get new users 😅

  32. 2

    Congratulations!

    1. 1

      Thanks Domgoj 😎🚀

  33. 2

    Congratulations! Gotta celebrate each step

    1. 1

Thanks Taylor! It's hard to stop and smell the roses when you're obsessed 😆

  34. 2

To be honest it still feels the same now as it did the first time! It's soo amazing!
And actually this month I have reached ramen with the profit I got from the WBE Space

    1. 1

Are you talking about sex or ... something else, Tiago? 🤭.

    2. 1

Ramen profitability, my ultimate dream 🥹

Well done Tiago 😁 I'm always impressed by community builders 👌 How much is ramen profitability for you if you don't mind telling?

      1. 3

        around 600 euros

        1. 1

Nice dude, you're living pretty lean 😁 I need to move from Canada to Bali or something 😅

          1. 2

For Bali right now you will need more than that, trust me! (I am here!)

But with 1.000€ you can live pretty well!

            1. 1

Oh got it. Here in CA I need about 3K MRR 😅 But I could porbably cut it down to 2K.

              1. 2

3K? I would have thought it was much more!

Are you living alone or it is a shared flat?

(I am thinking about where do I wanna live, and my two siblings are now in the US - NY and Pasadena - so US is a clear option right now!)

                1. 1

Living alone 😊 Rent + cheap car + insurances + healthy food + the occasional activity/restaurant.

But I think even if I get to half my monthly expenses in MRR I'm burning all the boats 😆

Nice! NY sounds expensive though 😶

          2. 2

Well this covers rent and ramen... Nothing more

            1. 2

That's all you need to feel like a billionaire 😆

  35. 1

Congrats! I just announced my first $ of MRR and for the very same reason, I was afraid to share it. I was worried about churn but honestly, it is worth celebrating because it's revenue. Congrats again.

    1. 1

Thank you 🙏 And congrats 🤩

Just reached 100 MRR recently 💪

Keep up the good work 🚀

  36. 1

Amazing Bro Keep it up 👍👍👍👍

    1. 1

      🎉😎

      Thanks Kundan 😊

      Next up: more

      😆

  37. 1

First MRR is always inspiring, I could give you a little help by providing you a free upgraded account on UXsniff for one year. Let me know.

    1. 1

      Thank you 😯🤩

UXsniff looks pretty cool 👌 Does it use cookies to track users?

      1. 2

Yes it use cookies to store user anonymous ID, no ip addresses or personal information are tracked

        1. 1

Oh I see, nice. But that still necessitates the cookie banner right?

          1. 2

Yup, and whether to show a simple or complex cookie banner, it depends on your business nature and audience location.
