Hello IndieHackers, long-time lurker here. 👋
I've been reading the forum for some time now but didn't post until I recently discovered thread on the forum "I hate doing customer support. How do I get out of it?"
There I noticed that @yj is actually looking for something my small team and I are building and decide to post for first time suggesting to talk more about it but unluckily, the author did not respond back.
Nevertheless, that inspired me to write this post and seek for other people that would maybe interested in trying to implement this with us.
My team and I have been working on chatbot that responds on frequently asked questions called Gotobot. We're starting with this funcionality for now but are open to idea of going with even more in the future.
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 virus outbreak, our first client who wanted to use this is now not in the position to do so because he's in tourism industry.
Our landing page is currentely more oriented to hotels currently because of our postponed client but if anyone is interested in using a chatbot, we are more than open to talk about the details and use cases.
Any general advice and comments are also welcome. 😊
Hi! Im starting to get interest for AI/ML and i think that chatbots are an interesting technology. How did you exactly build this, from scratch or?
Hi, glad to hear that more and more people are interest in building chatbots. 👌
We thought about implementing it from scratch but we still wouldn't be finished in months, then we looked at solutions like Dialogflow but they own the data and are expensive so we leveraged open source solution called Rasa and built on top of it.
If you have any more questions feel free to ask.
Hey @tp19! Congratulations on your MVP ! Sorry I never responded to your comment, I get distracted easily. 😁
My advice for you is to give a better, more detailed description of your product rather than "a chatbot for hotels". That doesn't tell me anything about what problem your product solves, and in fact since you said it was for hotels, my first thought is that it's not for me since I'm not running a hotel. I haven't checked out your site yet to be fair, but so far I haven't had reason to.
Thank you, no problem, it is hard to follow everything. 😅
You are right, that was our first use case so we made an MVP like that but we are looking in all industries to be honest because it isn't hard for us to shift at these phase of our product.
I will edit my post a bit so I express what are we doing more clearly.
