MVP of a site highlighting transparent companies, what do you think?
This is my first post on Indiehackers but I am excited that I get to share an MVP of a concept I made this past week. It is called Transparent Companies and it is a list of companies that have transparency as a core value.
This idea is a little half-baked but I just wanted to put it out in the open as soon as possible to start getting feedback since I feel like there are several directions this could go and I am not sure which one to take.
My questions are:
- How can I best validate if this idea has potential?
- Where is the best place to share and get feedback? (besides indie hackers of course :) )
- Do you have any critiques of the idea and what are they?

Transparency is great, and having a site that lists transparent companies is probably useful to someone. The BUT in that statement is, who is your audience, and what problem are you solving for them by providing this information?
I imagine, though you would need to check, that this could be useful to job seekers, maybe journalists, possibly investors.
The other thing I'd consider at the moment is the format you are presenting the companies in. If I were a user comparing the companies (say if I were looking at tech companies because I want to find a job in a company that values transparency), then seeing multiple in a list could be useful.
However, if I were searching for a specific company then maybe the first screen should be a big search bar rather than a list, since the only company I care about is the one I'm looking for.
My only other thing is as any type of user, I want to be able to trust your information. I'm sure you can find a clever way of keeping it up to date, but maybe you want a small UI element that says "this list was last updated by X person on X time" or something along those lines.

This is what I am trying to nail down more clearly, but right now the plan was to put it out there, see what kind of people might care, and then build around what I find out. I hadn't thought about journalists so thanks for giving me that to think about.
I also took a look at your landing page:
I honestly am probably not your target market so I can't say that much about the product itself. My one piece of feedback is to make the "Sign up for early release" link a LOT more prominent. This is probably the most important thing to track (in my opinion) but I didn't actually see it until I scanned your page several times so I think it might be better to make it stand out more and not just be a black link.
