My #100DaysOfCode and my app is done!

Finally, I just finished #100DaysOfCode. I'm so happy I started building my project in public months ago. The motivation that comes from all the people that I encountered during this ~100 days is surely a big help.

Now that I think about it, I think I can not finish a project end-to-end without the warmth of such wholesome community. I'd been long interested in habit-building and what makes a habit stick. Being persistent with coding in a hundred days is tough and challenging. In 100DaysOfCode, I found out that having a social environment to surround yourself is a BIG factor to finish what you started. Given that realization, I decided to pivot from my original project midway and build something from my itch of tracking habits and social interactions instead.

So fast forward to day 100, the alpha version of Hatchling is done and open for early access! It's a habit tracker with social component at its core. Initially, my intention would be to open it for artists that might be interested in solidifying their habits. It's also a beautiful way to reflect on your progress from time to time. Here's a snapshot of a painting made 30min per day by @infinitygrass on Hatchling.

Also, some of my friends are using it for their drawing hobbies.

Users can also browse for the projects being done by other users - paving the way for social interactions!

Surely, the application is not just for artists! Maybe, people who wants to be in a certain shape can document their journey through this app. Hell, one of my friend use it to be consistent on his gaming skills

If you are interested in trying out the app , you can check out hatchling.netlify.app.

Well, anyways, back to topic. This might not be as useful as other posts, but if you are building something and you find yourself out of motivation from time to time, may be you can give #100DaysOfCode a try.

Thank you for reading and I appreciate your time!
