My AnimeMyPic launch

🧡 Launched: AnimeMyPic β€” Turn Your Real Photos into Anime Portraits

Hey Indie Hackers!

I just launched AnimeMyPic, a web app that transforms real photos into anime-style illustrations using AI. You can pick styles inspired by shows like One Piece, Naruto, or Ghibli β€” and get a high-quality anime version of yourself or your friends.

πŸ’‘ Why I Built It:

I’ve always loved anime and thought: what if anyone could see themselves as an anime character?
With image generation getting better, I wanted to make that experience fun, accessible, and fast.

βš™οΈ Stack:

  • Next.js for the frontend

  • Supabase for auth & storage

  • OpenAI (GPT-4 with vision) for image processing

  • Cursor helped me build it 10x faster

πŸ’° Monetization:

It’s pay-per-credits. You upload β†’ we transform β†’ you download.

πŸ™ I'd love your feedback:

  • Is the value clear from the landing page?

  • Would you pay for something like this?

  • Any styles or anime you'd want to see added?

Try it here: https://animemypic.com
Happy to answer any questions!

Congrats on the launch β€” just tried AnimeMyPic and it works really well! The style choices are a great touch, especially having options inspired by big names like Ghibli and Naruto. The flow from upload to result is smooth, and the credits model makes sense for this kind of product.

Would be cool to see newer anime styles too, maybe Jujutsu Kaisen or Chainsaw Man. Also curious if you’re considering a mobile version β€” feels like something people would love using on the go.

Nice work overall β€” I run a film-focused site myfreecineapk, so I really appreciate well-designed media experiences like this.

Thanks so much, really appreciate you trying it out and leaving such thoughtful feedback! πŸ™
Glad you liked the style options. Ghibli and Naruto were top picks early on, and Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man are definitely on the roadmap πŸ‘€

And yes, you're spot on, a mobile-friendly version would be perfect for quick, on-the-go transformations and sharing.

Really cool that you run a film-focused site,I love hearing from people who appreciate strong visual design and storytelling. Thanks again for the kind words and support!

Hi! I've looked at your landing page the value proposition is concise and presented well.
The site appears clean, loads fast and provides a smooth experience. Overall, wonderful work!

As far as prices go, I believe 3€ for 10 credits may be too much for first-time users trying it out out of curiosity. Having a lower entry price or a trial option would boost engagement.

When it comes to styles, it would also be cool to have a few cartoon-inspired as well possibly a classic like Tom & Jerry, if you know what i’m saying. Keep up the great work!πŸ”₯

Thanks so much for the kind words and helpful feedback! πŸ™
I’m really glad the value and experience came across clearly β€” that means a lot.

Totally hear you on the pricing. I’ve been thinking about ways to make the entry point more accessible, especially for first-time or curious users. A small starter pack or preview option is definitely on the roadmap.

And yes β€” cartoon styles like Tom & Jerry πŸ‘€πŸ”₯ That’s a brilliant idea. I’ve mostly focused on anime so far, but expanding into iconic Western styles could be a fun direction. Appreciate the suggestion!

Thanks again for the encouragement β€” more updates soon! 😊
