My app was finaaally approved by Apple after 5 weeks!

I'm not sure how long you guys have had to deal with the Apple review process but it was excruciatingly long, vague, trial & error and finally required an appeal to get it approved.

Anyway, it's FINALLY LIVE and feels great! Runmore is a beautifully simple 5K training app that I released on Android a few years ago.

Would love your feedback, especially if you're thinking of getting into running.

    Yay! Good job!

BTW, how many releases have you had? From my experience, from your next release, they're going to fight you on those screenshots - they need to show more actual in-app UI screens.

The AppStore team is usually more lenient with creative on first-time releases, but after that they'll become a bit more strict.

Thanks! I actually released a metadata update straight after with a minor change to the screenshots and they approved it within 24 hours!

Usually it takes about 2 days to get approved. But if you had issues and they kept rejecting it, that can definitely make it take longer. Hope you have a better experience in the future!

This is a really nice looking app! A lot of the 5k training apps are ugly, ad-riddled garbage.

Thanks for kind words! That was exactly my mission when I set out to build it. The current offerings are hideous and I love an interesting design challenge. Glad its come across.

    Congratulations!

Years ago, we had our app reject a first couple of times and it felt that every time we sent it back it was being looked at by a different team - a level above the one before - so we were finding new things every time.

Finally, we did every thing they said to the T to appease them.

Pat your back for getting it this far!

Ah man felt the same. I wish they could just tell us all that's wrong with it in one go. Thanks for pat!

Great! It took 2 weeks for me. Mostly waiting while it was 'waiting for review'. What were the issues you had to work on?

    1. 1

      Oh so so many issues:

      1. The app was crashing on a certain screen only in the review. We could never replicate it with their limited crash report data - Eventually stripped features out

      2. The app & description lacked a terms & conditions and privacy policy link even though it was submitted as part of the metadata

      3. We built an integration with Healthkit which Apple prohibited from releasing it as part of our paid plan

      4. We had a night mode beta feature which we weren't allowed to release as "beta"

      5. Apple deemed out subscription plan not worthy to be a subscription plan - had to strip this out for now

      6. We were then accused of stripping down the app to game the review system.

      7. Finally, the icing on the cake was being accused of being a copycat app even though we have had a successful Android version live for years.

We lastly had to appeal the final rejection which was thankfully successful.

Oh wow that's quite a rollercoaster ride you had! Congrats on finally getting it live and I hope you find ways to get your subscriptions back in the app!
