Today, I woke up to about 17k pageviews and 250 signups on a social networking app I made and subsequently left last year. Apparently it went viral on TikTok. I'm wondering if that's an opportunity to seize, or just a distraction. What can I do about this?
Can you share the tiktok here? :)
I want to see it too:-)
I would use this opportunity to reach out to your newly found audience and talk to them. Maybe start by ask if they like the app or more importantly what they don't like about it.
The point here is to start some conversations and figure out what they want. You don't need to talk to everyone, but if you can get some good conversations going with 10 or 20 people it could be very valuable.
However, you do have to be careful with the questions asked and how much you read into the answers. Remember, their answers are already going to be framed by what your app already does which might work against you.
If you do have some conversations and uncover some common threads then you might be onto something worth exploring further.
Start with a MVP. Keep your subscribers informed about the progress of your project.
Keep in mind that a viral product is not necessarily a successful business.
Subscribing to an email list is always easier than converting your audience to paid customer. It depends on the nature of your product.
It can quickly go to your head, so keep your mind on the ground and really test your solution to see if it really works.
Good job ;)
So it was a community spread? :p
As soon as you have a community and therefore traction, there is a chance that you could make more out of it.
It’s an opportunity to seize, even if you’d be open to selling it later on. Still seize it.
do you care about this? if not, then, forget about it.
:P
Do you have a landing page? (Website for your app?)
