My attempt at building a 'portfolio of saas companies'

the biggest lie i told myself was that i could build a 'portfolio of saas businesses'

i was once building slick.is, seoguard.co, nuw.io, caelusai.com, and consulting good chunk of my hours all at the same time (sep '23 - feb '24)

crossed $100+ mrr for ~ all the products, so i did do an okay job at picking the right products/problems (documented some of my journey - https://x.com/shivanshco)

did make me sound super cool amongst friends as well

but that's exactly where all the fun ended

• most of the mrr came from 'launches'
• making consistent progress was difficult
• unlocking true insights was extremely difficult

2023 me would argue that i could sell a $100mrr app for $5k or $500mrr for $20k and profit but 2024 me had me question if playing a game like this was truly the highest leverage i had

maybe i'll be able to do this in a couple months/years as i get better with delegation, people and processes

maybe it's a little easier to venture out #2, once #1 is a little stable

for now, got one focus in life, slick.is
