My biggest mistake is my engineer ego

I enjoy programming, solving problems, and building products. I've quite a bit of career in SMEs, and doing freelance projects. I've been getting into indiehacking and start-up communities slowly over the last 15 months or so. I've come to realize that my biggest problem was that I valued engineering too much.

I've always felt like engineering was the aspect that made a (tech) company work. I cared about the quality, the scalability, readability, future-proofness, modernity etc. of the products that I built, which probably makes me a great software engineer, but also damages my changes to become a good entrepreneur.

The hard realisation is that, although engineering is an important part of a company but not the most important one, product development and marketing/sales are just as important.

I decided I should get out of my little bubble, appreciate the fact that I have on of the most expensive part covered, and give other parts the required attention.

There must be a special name for this bias/fallacy.
