If you are a technical founder with experience building software products, your highest challenge is not building a product. If you put in enough effort, you probably will make what you want.
It's not a surprise your product will live or die by the ability to bring paying users. For this, you need marketing and sales skills.
Books are an excellent way to get some theoretical knowledge.
In the last several months, I have read many books (more accurately, listened to audio versions of them). The knowledge gives me a lot of ideas on how to get more paying users to goalskeeper.io
The ones I recommend the most are:
Start Small, Stay Small - A Developer's Guide to Launching a Startup by @robwalling
it's a pretty old book, yet it gives a lot of inspiration and guidance on how to start
Crossing the Chasm - Marketing and Selling Technology Projects to Mainstream Customers by Geoffrey A. Moore
It's an even older book and mainly talks about a different stage of startup life, but I think the learning will also help in earlier stages.
Traction - How Any Startup Can Achieve Explosive Customer Growth
by Gabriel Weinberg, Justin Mares
The book will help you to test and find marketing channels.
Obviously Awesome - How to Nail Product Positioning so Customers Get It, Buy It, Love It by April Dunford
positioning will determine the market that you are in, and this book will help to fine-tune your positioning
The Mom Test - How to Talk to Customers & Learn If Your Business Is a Good Idea When Everyone Is Lying to You by @robfitz
The book will help to make valuable user conversations.
