My customers started to talk to me (kinda) - Weekly backlog 2020/16

I spent most of my time last week working on new features for Gift Hunt. I rolled out the latest version of the plugin with Mailchimp integration at the beginning of the week and also created a short tutorial about the new feature and added it to the landing page.

And a potential customer reached out with another feature request that was in my backlog already so I started to work on that. It turned out to be a bit more complicated to do the necessary changes than I first thought but that’s mainly because a bunch of features are already available in the plugin and that makes it hard to keep the UI easy to use and understand. So it's more of a UX than a coding challenge.

It looks like that it was worth adding a chat widget to my landing pages as more and more visitors are starting to reach out through that (2 to 3 visitors every week). They have questions about the features and that makes me think that the information available on the site is not enough or not good enough. I'll work on that in the upcoming weeks and I'm lucky enough to get some help from my girlfriend as creating content is one of the hardest tasks for me :D

Regarding the pandemic, I think we are getting used to the restrictions and they don't have that much effect on our productivity as before.

This week I'll probably spend some time finishing the additional features of Gift Hunt and after that, I'll focus on creating more educational content for the product pages.
