My Early Access Codes did NOTHING! 😬

I have a confession to make… 😕
My early access codes …did nothing. 😬
Let me explain myself 👇

Yes, I had people putting codes into a field that didn’t validate the values and didn’t do anything!
I even had people sharing around these codes to give access to others. 😅

Why build something if you don’t need to?
I find it best to find the quickest way to a solution possible.

So thats what I did with early access codes.
I just didn’t create them at all! 😂

I wanted only a few people to access Potion while I was in the early stages so I could make big infrastructure changes if needed.

I also wanted to make sure I was ready for more users.

I didn’t want to build a feature to keep track of each code and check that it was used or not. I didn’t even think about how hard that would be to build.

I Just skipped that process.

I would type up random strings of numbers and letters to send to people so they thought they were getting let in to an exclusive product. As far as I know, no one found out it was fake.

So sorry for tricking some of you, but it was worth the extra effort I didn’t have to put in.
