My name is Idan, I'm a 19 years old software engineer from Israel.
I have more than 5 years of experience in Web Development.
One year ago, I quit my 9-5 job to try and reach my goals.
One of them was to start my own software company and be financially free.
I didn't know where to start. I've watched hundreds of videos, read so many articles, but I just didn't know what software should I create and why.
A friend of mine had a dropshipping business and he always told me how hard it was for dropshippers to determine which product they should dropship.
And there I had it. My idea. I thought why not create a software that somehow shows dropshippers hot and winning products for them to dropship?
I have done some research and seen some softwares that do the same, but I thought their pricing was very high.
And from that second I knew it: I'll create a product research software for dropshippers, and make it cost a bit less than the others. That will totally bring some customers! (At least that's what I thought back then...)
I have immediately opened VS Code and started coding. (What a mistake...)
I've spent almost 6 months creating the MVP of the software.

After 6 months, I have finally published and started marketing it.
The marketing was terrible. I didn't know anything in marketing.
I've started watching some youtube videos about digital marketing.
I have done everything they said. I have posted on subreddits, opened a TikTok, sent some cold emails, launched some twitter & reddit ads, and other than some people registering but then leaving the site, nothing really happened.
I didn't know what I was doing wrong. Back then, I didn't wanna blame the software, because it was my baby. I've spent so much time working on it and I couldn't imagine it just doesn't give enough value.
I've spent another 2 months doing the same, and then, someone actually bought a subscription and started using the software.
I was so happy, but I always thought they gonna unsubscribe.
And after like a month, they really did.
That broke my heart, it really did.
But I figured instead of crying like a little baby, I should understand why they stopped their subscription. What didn't they like about the software?
So I opened up the software and just looked at it. And for once, I really tried using it like I am a dropshipper.
I've tried every feature, and after like 2 hours or so, I realized what was the problem.
The software wasn't valuable enough. I wouldn't buy it. And if I wouldn't buy it, why would someone else buy it?
At this point, I gave up on that software and tried to look for new opportunities.
And suddenly, I remembered how marketing is a big big step when you try to build up a business.
I remembered how bad I was at it, and how it's probably the same for others.
There I had it. My new idea for my next SaaS.
A problem I really had in my life, but yet without a solution.
I remembered how the only thing I was good at was sending cold emails. This is how I really got some registeres at the end of the day.
So I thought, why not make a software that sends Cold DM's in social medias? It's better than emails! Who reads emails these days? That's right, No one!
But there's always one problem with cold emails and cold dm's, you don't know whether you send it to an interested person, or not.
If you send your cold email/DM to a person who doesn't really have any interest in what you're trying to sell, then you're a spammer and they are most likely gonna block you.
So I thought to myself, why not use their algorithms to check whether if a person is interested and only then send him the message?
And now, after you've heared all of that, I'll skip to the current situation.
I've successfuly built a software that automates your digital marketing. It's called SuperSocial, and It's awesome.
The only thing you should do to automate your marketing with it is to enter keywords that relate to your business and it will automatically search for future customers and send them your cold dm.
Also, writing a Cold DM is super easy with SuperSocial!

As you can see, there are so many unique variables you can include in your message. Such as {firstname}, {lastname}, {username} and more! This will all be automatically translated per user. It works like magic.
I've currently only integrated Twitter, but I plan on integrating TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and more social medias in the future!

I've started marketing the software last week, and so far it's been pretty good.
It's free for 7 days, risk-free, so you can all try SuperSocial now and give me some feedback.
Thank y'all for reading!

Thanks for sharing your story Idan. Cool to see the evolution of your ventures through your own experience and pain points along the way. Goes to show that experience is the best teacher, and no experience is lost if we learn from it. Good luck with the new venture.
Couldn't agree more.
Thank you, Chris.
awesome story
Thank you so much, Ferhangul! Glad you liked it.
Very empowered, all the best w/ SuperSocial

This upvote is for you idan
Great share! I'm actually thinking of using this tool!
Thank you, Rhea! Really appreciated.
Thanks for sharing your story, it gives me encouragement!
Sure! Glad you liked it.
Hey, your story is awesome! How long did all this take?
I checked out SuperSocial as well as your TikTok page for organic marketing. I'd love to help you get going more over there as well.
Thank you! It took me like 2 months to build SuperSocial.
I'd love to get help! Can you contact me on Twitter?
In my opinion talking directly to potential customers is one of the best methods of getting product up and running. I'used this method for some previous apps, talking for nights on Discord servers. But sometimes I can't easily find potential customers, in that situation your tool could be super useful for me. Definitely I'm gonna try it in next few weeks!
Thank you so much, Matisiekpl!
I really appreciate you. Can't wait for your feedback!
May I ask you how you promoted SuperSocial? Use only SuperSocial to do that? Or you set up paid ads as side channel of marketing?
Great question! I let SuperSocial promote itself.
That would be funny if I didn't do that, right?🤣
Yup, but is this only method of promoting? Do you have side channels?
I also use organic TikTok to promote it (Which also gonna be added to SuperSocial in the future)
Honesty is something that comes very rarely. Thank you for sharing the struggle and letting others know how hard it can actually be. Best of luck 🚀
Thank you so much, Lumedz! I appreciate that.
Great story, Idan — all the best for SuperSocial! 🚀
Thank you so much, Lillian! Glad that you liked it!
