I was inspired to create this app after completing a Flutter tutorial in early 2025. I have dabbled in creative fiction most of my adult life and published in a few places online, and I immediately saw the benefit of this for random and focused brainstorming. It's also useful for naming new products or services.
I worked on it for an estimated 125-150 hours. It was my first app and it was written in Cursor, so there was often backtracking because I didn't realize many things about app architecture and best practices until the later stages of development. But I learned a lot.
I have no idea how to market this thing. It's pretty niche, I would say. But it's my first app, pretty robust for a first endeavor, and it was a passion project (I often worked over 12 hours at a time on days off from my job and many times worked 2-4 hours after my 12 hours shift).
I would love to hear any advice on what you're finding success with in terms of self-promotion. The app has been released for the Play Store and I'll release on the App Store soon, and I'm already building my next app. I much prefer the creative process of building over trying to figure out marketing, but I know it's important.
Thanks for taking the time to read about my app-making journey. Best of luck in your work.
