My first Book Pre-sale ever

I've never tried to launch anything on the internet before 2020.

On January/2020 I started my blog (http://renanmf.com) about programming and career in tech.

I've been a professional Software Engineer for almost 10 years now.

4 months later and 100 posts in, I made a jump and published a free Python Guide with more than 100 pages in PDF.

The idea was to test if people would like my writing and the way I communicate concepts.

To download the book, the person has to give me their name and e-mail.

Many people say to start collecting e-mails from day 1, so I did it. (https://renanmf.com/python-guide-beginners/)

Fortunately, I had lots of positive feedback and built a list of nearly 4000 people.

Some of these people requested something more structured, with exercises and projects, so I decided to make an expanded version of the free guide into a full book covering all the topics I deem necessary.

I called it Python Fundamentals: Be able to say "I know Python"

I shared the Table of Contents in my last newsletter and had some positive replies and suggestions for extra topics.

The commitment to this project is going to be big (I will cover a lot!) so I opened to pre-sale here: https://gumroad.com/l/HoXnu

I still haven't shared it with my subscribers yet (my newsletters are out every Sunday), I intend to do it in two or three weeks after I finish about 1/3 of the book.

For now, people receive the first chapter when they buy it.

Let's see how it goes for a first-ever self-publishing pre-sale.

Wish me luck :)
