My first build-in public SaaS journey kicks off!

👋 Indie Hackers,

I am very excited to start the build-in public journey of my first SaaS product.

First, a little bit about myself - I am an ex-founder of a video production agency(https://studiotale.com), transitioning into an IndieHacker.

Why I am building?

The idea for this product came while I was still at my agency. We used to create demo videos for software products. At one point, we noticed that videos work just fine for the products which do not frequently change, hence they are perfect for the long term.

But, for the products that are in the upcoming stage, they had many continuous changes. So, it was tough to change just the evolved part of the product in the video; hence the video had to be re-recorded/made.

To conquer this problem, I came up with an idea of a tool that automatically captures each event while the user is working on their product and help them create step-by-step demos using annotated screenshots.

And, the best part of all is that these steps can later be edited/updated easily whenever a feature of a product changes.

How I am building?

I started searching for a tech co-founder and decided to make it together. But after trying for sometime, I was unsuccessful.

But, I was very passionate about the idea, so I took up the challenge to learn coding again after a decade of completing my CS degree and went solo on building the product.

So, here I am after a 3-month learning journey of Javascript--> React --> Next JS + Serverless and building 3 personal projects, ready to start the MVP of my SaaS.

The Product!

It is called Supademo 🎉.

It helps software product teams to create easily shareable step-by-step guides in seconds.

Here are the minimal features I'm planning for the first MVP version:

• Capture user actions as screenshots and convert them into demo guides
• Share the demo by using the link, embed, and export PDF
• Duplicate the demo

I am in the middle of stopping my brain from adding more features into the MVP. It's hard! 😅

As I said, I will #buildinpublic to be accountable and consistent with the project. I will be sharing the progress updates (success and failures) on Twitter and weekly updates for the Indie Hackers community.
