Hey Indie Hackers!
Today I'm extremely excited and proud to share with all of you something I've been working on during the past 2 weeks.
I believe all of us that belong to this great community feels they are a builder, a product creator, a startup, you name it. Like most of you, I have always dreamt with building something that helps someone, even if it's just at a small scale.
Now more than ever, people need a personal space on the Internet to share their voices and opinions, and I truly believe Ghost is a great platform to do so. However, setting up and hosting your own Ghost blog requires some technical skills that unfortunately not everybody has.
That's why I want to help those people by providing a fully managed hosting to their Ghost blogs, in less than 5 min, for an affordable price.
Love the idea, ambivalent about the name, but my concern with using this service is how my data is backed-up. As a new business, you could disappear at a moment's notice, but a blog is an archive of hours of work. I wouldn't want to lose that.
Make it clear whether - and how - my data is safely protected in the event of business failure and I think you might be onto a winner here.
Thank you for your feedback, jaymie. Daily server backups happen behind the scenes and you could ask us to restore your server to a point in time up to 7 days past. Apart from that, do you think offering the option to download a backup of your blog content would be valuable?
Thanks for clarifying. I think a lot of people would value being able to have that blog download under their control, to keep it in their Dropbox or whatever. Having the backup request option on the website would help alleviate anxieties for the buyer too.
Making the process of creating a blog quite straight forward with less time, energy and money seems very promising! Looking forward to see the next steps :)
