My first-ever profitable side-project!
Now I understand the makers who make a profit with their projects. 🤩
Also now I understand how much effort, time, love, mistakes and sometimes money required to build something people will love. But it absolutely worth it.
What a great feeling when your side-project has started to make a profit, even the small one! It inspires to work harder than ever.
A month ago I've launched a doodlepatterns, a collection of 61 seamless hand-drawn vector patterns that can be used as a cool graphic element for the websites, apps, different marketing materials, social posts or even might be printed on different things.
And for the past 30 days it has got:
📊 360 downloads;
👀 1920 views;
💸 $207 in sales.
Not huge numbers at all, but it gave me confidence that I'm doing the right thing.

Do you remember the feeling when you received the first dollar from side-project?
Making money from my side projects is the "hook" that actually made me fall in love with making things. Sure, writing code and putting projects together is cool, but when someone uses it, gives you feedback, and pays you for it... That's a really great feeling.

Nice project Alexander. Now I understand why you have interested in different nocode tools. I think even you can switch this product to the marketplace. So everybody can upload own pattern and you can reserve some commission.

Have you thought about making it a monthly subscription? Instead of buy all for $35, make it $4 a month with a $40 for a year upfront. Then have a process of expanding the offering.
Kinda like fontstore or adobefonts for doodles...
If you have the email of those who already purchase offer them a 50% discount to start up a memebership since they already paid you know they have a use.
The subscription model lends itself better to some projects than others. For something like this a one-time purchase might be more profitable over all because the mental barrier is lower compared to starting a subscription.
I'm a pretty novice at making projects and even didn't think that I can charge monthly, but tbh, I didn't think it will work for me, since I don't want to charge people even if they don't use my website... I think will be better to work on a fair pricing instead.

4x360 = $1440. How come you only made $207 in sales ? Even with the discount, you should be making more ? Or maybe that's your part (I see 2 designers) minus the fees.
The answer is simple as hell - 10 of the patterns are free :) Maybe I shouldn't giveaway them for free, but I thought it may drive some interest to the website.
