For the past... ~5 months I've been working on my first every SaaS project - Itinee. Itinee is a travel planning app specifically designed to help organize trips and help you plan vacations that are in your budget.
I've just gotten the app itself "feature complete", but there's still a ways to go before launch. Would love any feedback on:
Thanks!
Cool idea. I like the screenshots.
One suggestion is to state the user benefit super clearly in the heading tag of the first panel. I had to read the small print several panels down in order to try to figure out what benefit I would get by using it. You say "ditch the spreadsheets and bookmarks", but what is wrong with spreadsheets and bookmarks? Is this solution faster? If so, can you measure how much faster? Perhaps you could say something like: "Book travel 3 hours faster!"
Great job and good luck.
Thanks! I'll try to hit the pain point more clearly
Clean and simple. I know exactly what the product is with a minimal amount of words to explain it. I think a pay per trip model would be the way to go. Can you just maintain their history for x length of time till they're ready for the next trip without deletion? Can the restart process be more fluid?
Thinking about it more, what I could do is offer, say 1 trip for $15 for one month. If you want to edit the trip for longer than that, you can pay for additional months, you can add them for $5 or something like that. After your time is up, you can no longer edit the trip, but you can always add more months to keep editing or pay for a new trip.
Do you think something like that might make more sense?
The landing page is really great. I know exactly what it does right away, without any BS.
The branding and design could be better, but it is good enough that it won't hold you back whatsoever.
I did not give it an in-depth review, but I am curious about the business model. It looks like a useful product, but I personally only go on one or two "trips" per year, yet this is a SaaS product with a monthly price. Do you think there are enough people who go on at least 1 trip per month that would pay for this every month?
Thanks for the feedback! The pricing model is still being workshopped, I've had a lot of trouble deciding on something.
I don't expect many people at all go on one trip per month. I expect people who purchase the monthly plan to subscribe for a couple of months while they plan their trip and then cancel, rinse and repeat. If they subscribe for more than a few months, it would have been cheaper to purchase the annual plan (which is what I see as being the "standard" plan).
A few people have suggested a "pay-per-trip" model, which is nice in theory, but I haven't figured out how to implement in practice. I'm not sure how to prevent people from paying for one trip, and then just constantly deleting everything and starting over as they take more trips.
There's also the option of "free with ads" but I'm not a fan of that pricing model in general...
