Hi everyone, I'm a long time lurker and I love this community. I was working a 925 up until a few weeks ago and while I was always motivated by all the great posts and tips that I read here, I never had anything of my own to work on.
Well, that changed.
About a month ago, my friend asked me to help him launch his ecommerce website (www.growhouse.supply). I came in to his office and we started talking, and I slowly began to get more and more excited about his idea until I told him, listen, I'm not just gonna build a website, I want in on this whole project.
So I gave 2 weeks notice, and now we're partners.
It's been an amazing couple of weeks working on something that I own. The feeling is just so much better than getting paid. Even though I took a paycut for now, I think it will pay off many times over in many ways.
So anyways, that's my rant. I will try to share some of my struggles and successes here and I know that this is the best place for it because I've seen how supportive and helpful this community can be!
I would love to hear about other people's experience in the first few weeks, was it exhilarating, nerve-wracking, both?
Looking forward to journeying with y'all!
PS I know a thing or two about web dev and shopify management if anyone ever needs help..
Good luck Joe!
I'd say it's easy to get bogged down in stuff that really doesn't matter. Company policy / logos / etc ...
So just get on with the high value tasks
Thank you! Yeah I've been noticing that happening a little. I guess when you're starting out it's hard to really zone in on the most important things, and you end up spending a long time debating useless topics.
All the very best to you and your partner Joe.
Any time if you feel like to make your store to next level using technology feel free to contact me , i will be happy to help, always great to see growth stories of someone
All the very best.
Awesome, congrats on taking that leap.
Best of luck to you and your partner!
Thanks Nick, I just checked out thoughtreps.com and I think it's an awesome idea! I've definitely flirted with the idea of building something like this at some point. I will be signing up. Good Luck to you as well!
i appreciate the kind words!
always open to feedback/suggestions, feel free to reach out any time
