My first side project got 40k users and I turned it into full application for LinkedIn

Postli.co started as micro-project Linkedin Post Generator www.postgenerator.app and my first coding project which I built in April 2023.

It got viral a lot of views and feedback and I continued working on it. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/iuliia-shnai_linkedinpostgenerator-buildinginpublic-activity-7053373191133499392-uLcv?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop

I think Linkedin is very underused platform

Because people think it is cringe

But there is 1 Billion LinkedIn users, and less than 1% post constantly

The average amount of money Linkedin viewers have is higher than Twitter or any other platform.

So there are many potential customers there.

So, I started building it as micro tool, used open source, for myself and fun.

After it got viral, the story also got viral on Dev to https://dev.to/shnai0/how-i-build-my-first-open-source-project-with-chatgpt-and-nextjs-10k-users-in-24-hours-2m7n

So I continued improving it and writing about it.

Now I constantly posting on Linkedin about the updates and what I am building there https://www.linkedin.com/in/iuliia-shnai/

Incredible work, Luliia. I'll be watching your progress with interest!

    1. 1

That is great to hear :)

  2. 2

Haha, and people finding it 'cringe' just gives you more opportunities to create some thing great there that Indiehackers wont. Your tool is actually really smart, would definitely be interested in connecting on Twitter

    1. 1

I though about Twitter also but main stop is that it kind of limited, that it will not become scheduling tool ever with Twitter rules.

  3. 2

    Brilliant idea. Congratulations Luliia ๐Ÿ‘

    1. 1

      Thanksssss

  4. 2

It is wonderful! I wish I will get such numbers of views and clients soon. But one question. How did you do it?
Mostly I use SEO promotion for my projects especially I hope for expert articles and never use paid promotion.

    1. 2

I think main push is sharing on social, so I shared it on social and it got attention and feedback and start getting more traffic.

  5. 2

"Because people think it is cringe" I am 100% that person lol. You've got me nearly convinced to give it a shot though!

Also, I love your dev to post w the "๐Ÿฅš to ๐Ÿฅ" sections. Kudos to you for jumping into the wild world of web dev and making an awesome project so quickly ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ

    1. 2

I totally understand you. I also still sometimes think there is cringe.

But the more I am there, the better I select people to follow.

The content is just now different what I read, and it is good.

Longer than Twitter and different format.

Give it a try for sure, especially if your potential customer now or in the future is there

I find it also super useful for people who are Product Marketing, and Prodcut Led Growth, there are creators there bringing real value

  6. 2

One more question, the creators who added their post templates, did you collaborate with them? or did you just copy their posts from Linkedin?

Again, I love this idea so much. Great great work ๐Ÿคฉ

    1. 1

With most 70% of them informed and happy to be there.

30% I did not get yet response, but it will come eventually :)

  7. 2

I absolutely love this idea so much ๐Ÿš€๐Ÿš€๐Ÿš€

Have you thought of making it as a Chrome extension, where the posts get auto populated in LinkedIn, no need to copy and paste?

Check this out, I did something similar for ChatGPT Prompts https://chromewebstore.google.com/u/1/detail/chatgpt-prompt-gallery/mmnpgfmahdjojdnncmgngifdgffelihn?hl=en

    1. 1

I thought, but I expereince troubles with extensions myself.

I got banned number of times using Chrome extension for Linkedin without any outreach or smth.

So I am a bit cautious about it.
But I am checking your now:)

    Congratulations. Your app is fantastic.

Btw the links on your website menu don't go anywhere. Are you still working on them?

    1. 1

Thanks, I am still working on it. Should be up in couple of days.

  9. 2

I saw your launch on PH today as I was launching as well, and I have to say it's an excellent idea, congratulations for your successful launch, it's really well deserved!

    1. 1

Thanks so much Kearsan. What did you launch?

  10. 1

It's truly inspiring to see how Iuliia Shnai's passion for building in public has transformed a simple LinkedIn Post Generator into a thriving platform like Postli, used by over 40,000 users to create engaging LinkedIn content.

Great launch and very impressive for first project. I have done keyword analysis on your website and I think these keywords can help you to get more organic traffic.

The analysis is done by iterating tru thousands of keywords, and analyze the traffic difficulty and trend to come out with top 100 keywords for your market and target customer.

In case you interested to look at the analysis here the report :

    POSTLI.CO KEYWORDS ANALYSIS

You can also do the analysis yourself using the tool.

The link just lead to my website, should it be like that?
