My first side project got acquired (I can't code)

SINCE 2019
I have been dreaming and lurking here on IndieHackers. Because I didn't have any technical skills I thought I couldn't build anything.

FERBUARY 2021

  • I participated in a No-Code Bootcamp
  • During this bootcamp I created a first side project (MVP)

MARCH 2021

  • I continued to improve and market it.

APRIL

  • I did my first Product Hunt launch (ended in top 10)

MAY - AUGUST

  • I started building other side projects
  • I received an acquisition offer.

It's of course not a life changing amount, but still a beautiful compliment and motivation to keep learning and building.

I'm a huge believer in training. If MMA schools (etc.) didn't exist, maybe .1% of the people who fight today would fight.

We've got training for everything but for some reason, in entrepreneurship, many people see that as a weakness... it's crazy.

Anyone who's been stuck longer than 6 months (ideally 1 imo), should look for some sort of coach/training to move ahead.

    Well done.

Thanks RJ, for me, it's the 'training' (bootcamp) and finding my tribe that finally got me in action.

Yup, I agree. I get the backlash because there are a lot of get-rich-quick scams in entrepreneurship training but I think people forget that that's true in every field.

Lots of BS in nutrition. Lots of BS in weight lifting. Lots of BS in investing. Lots of BS in fighting.

But that doesn't mean we should just discount everything. Just because kung fu [or pick your martial arts] doesn't work doesn't mean MMA is nonsense too.

One big benefit is having the right info, but another HUGE one is the one you pointed out. Even if you know what to do... are you doing it? A big reason why fighting practice at a gym is so effective is that you have a fixed time that you show up 3-6 times a week. You know that you'll implement and practice the material.

Entrepreneurship is no different. That's exactly why I built YRC.

Wow, I actually know about https://www.nocode-guru.co/ from Famewall. I often exchange words with Goutham, amazing guy.

Congratulation Katt, you must be very happy with it. Was wondering what are you planning to do next?

So cool to hear that :-) Famewall is a great tool!

I'm currently working on some other side projects to keep learning and hopefully quit my job one day...

LoL great! i remember using it a while back because i had read somewhere to try this tool for no coders seeing it again now with an exit is great.

That is so nice to hear. I will miss it because it was a nice project... but still ...enough other plans. :)

Well done, Katt. Coder or not, the fact is we’re all entrepreneurs looking to create value. I'm glad you discovered that fact and found your first success. Good job!

That's what I call execution! Well done Katt, that's super impressive!

How did you market it? And would you like to share the side project?

    1. 1

Thanks Philip, It's just a simple and small project but now I'm motivated to keep going. It's www.nocode-guru.co

That is such an awesome idea, would love to see a similar idea, but for marketing tools. People always ask, what email marketing software to use. Or AI Copywriting. Love the idea, super simple!

        1. 1

I created a step-by-step guide on how you can make something similar. Let me know if I need to share it. :)

Hi Katt, can you please share with us? I would love to take a look into it
