My first website since 2004

Hello IndieHackers,

I made my last website with Macromedia Dreamweaver in 2004 to document my year abroad as an exchange student. Now I'm a lawyer working for the government and last year I have decided to learn to code (HTML, CSS, Bootstrap4, jQuery, Python, and Django).

I built this website that lets you create all the documents required to incorporate your company in Switzerland. It's something similar to what Stripe Atlas is offering for the U.S. The site is aimed at Swiss founders and, thus, only available in German (for now).

I have been lurking on IndieHackers for quite a while now and have tried to incorporate many of the tips that are being shared. I would love to get your feedback on my landing page. Many thanks!

Looks good and clear to me.

However, content wise, it's not obvious why recordwise.ch is better or different from all the other services out in Switzerland.

I am also living in Switzerland and founded my LTD about 5 years ago. I have it quite present in terms of what I was looking for. I remember I selected a small one man show company to do so because mainly he advertised with personal and individual approach.

It would help clarify what it is different to other offerings like ifj.ch, easygov.swiss, startups.ch or even fasoon.ch that are free of charge. People who are about to found will know them all anyway!

Thanks for your insightful feedback, Vadim.

Would you mind sharing the service you have used? What part of the service would make you recommend it to others? I have tried to be very open about who is performing the service on my about page. Would you suggest adding this personal touch to my landing page a bit more?

By "individual approach" do you mean that the customer service was personal and individual or that the product was individual (e.g. being able to customize your articles of association, getting suggestions for the company purpose)?

As far as my competitors are concerned, would you build "alternative pages" for these services? I don't have any partnerships so I am not able to offer free incorporations. On the other hand, my users are not being up-selled into buying phone contracts or insurance products that they might not need (yet).

        all yes

I now have the words to describe your site: It is well polished but it doesn't have soul!

        • Can I trust you?
        • Do I want to pay upfront?
        • How is this service better or is it only the best price?

I did my company formation with https://erfolgreichgruenden.ch/ its not the best website but it states that I can call him anytime.

He has also an comparison, not sure about its correctness there is one:

You don't have to offer a free service, no up-selled can be also seen as an advantage.

It needs to be clear why you?

Thank you for your valuable feedback. I will change my site to address your points and try to bring more soul into it.

I am currently not able to answer phone calls all the time because I have a "normal" job but do you think it would help if I would put my number on the site and tell people to call at a certain time (e.g. at midday or after 6pm) or book a slot with Calendly?

For clarification: Does your comment also apply to the about page or only the landing page?

Don't be afraid, there won't be many calls especially in the beginning! Its about to show you are available.

            book a slot with Calendly?
Good idea, this way you can control!

For clarification: Does your comment also apply to the about page or only the landing page?
Landing Page, I saw the about page later when clicked on all links. Its good! It builds trust, seeing your face, your title your experience.

            Important!
Get second and third opinion, what do I know, Its only my opinion. I could be a dog on the internet!

On the Internet, nobody knows you're a dog

ps. go to cofoundme and earlyhire and write people there this way you get a better picture of the swiss founders their mentality and get targret group specific feedback. And customers as well.

Haha love the dog remark 😉 and picture. I will keep asking people for feedback.

Just signed up to cofoundme today. There are no forums on this page, right? It's basically a site to match startups with cofounders/employees or am I missing something?

Thanks for the kind feedback, Xavier!

Is there anything you would change? I am planning to add some social proof. However, this will take a little bit of time because it needs to be real (no fake reviews of course).

      1. 2

Not sure because its seems very polished!
I understand you are putting all necessary steps but I like the 1,2,3 steps so I’d try to reduce 5 steps to 3, but it is very personal taste 😁

        1. 2

I actually had 7 steps a while ago and reduced it to 5 steps after getting some feedback 😂. I will see if I can reduce the number of steps even further.
