I still do have chat apps. I guess my classification of social media here are timelines and aggregators where there's a never-ending stream of content by your social group (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter). Technically both IndieHackers and Whatsapp are a form of social network, but since they both contribute to my quality of life, I've decided they can stay ;)
So I for example don't use any social media platform apart from WhatsApp which connects me to people I really know. I've never liked all this social media thing. I quit using my FaceBook account before highschool.
I have already caught myself mindlessly trying to go back to it, for no real reason. I am trying to be much more mindful of how I spend my time now, but it is hard to do initially.
I posted a Tweet about this. 🤣
What do you find works best for you to keep in touch intentionally with friends?

I just recently quit Twitter also, and wrote about it on my blog: https://vancelucas.com/blog/scorched-earth-quitting-twitter-and-deleting-everything/
