The interesting part is that you're validating before building, but there are several different assumptions bundled into the managed-backend idea.

I was more interested in the validation of the underlying demand, but it makes sense that the question now shifts toward usage and growth rather than whether to build it.

The demand validation came the hard way — I kept getting blindsided by these deadlines myself, then realized how many people are searching for exactly this info every month (turns out, a lot).
