My girlfriend and I created an app to keep track of our memories
Hi everyone,
We’ve built Couple Joy, an iOS app where we can add our memories with date & location and beautifully visualize them.
Our phones’ gallery is usually very full of photos of our cat 😅, random stuff, and screenshots, and was hard for us to find the key events from our lives. It just takes a few seconds to add a new memory. The location and date are autocompleted from photos' metadata (if available), so you just have to add a title.
If you add a location to a memory then you can see it on the map. We hope to fill the map with a lot of pins this year!

Maybe it's me, but if you sell me "Create Memories" I feel like you are selling me unique experiences (ie: 2hr sailing tour with a beautiful sunset, etc...). I think I would describe what your app does as "Preserve beautiful moments" or something like that.

Sure! With premium you can add unlimited pins on the map, automatically get the date & location from the photo's metadata when you add a memory, no photo compression and multiple photos to a single memory.

I'll definitely end up building this because I want it on a weekly basis. I think it's a 2023 project.

if this goes well, I was planning on experimenting with spin off services that work with the same backend and just serve different markets. one of them would have been couples. haha :D

After I will get some couples on board I planned to make some other apps based on the same backend for other audiences. For example to use it as a solo person, not as a couple :)

Thanks!! I liked building it and I am continuously trying to improve it. Is the app I wish I had 7 years ago at the beginning of our relationship 😄. I am currently struggling to find couples to join the app. I love building stuff but the marking part is killing me :/
I can totally understand.
One suggestion - having a IAP for lifetime access might help. There were few apps mainly 'Couple' and 'Avocado'. They were doing fine at that time, although it was 6-7 years ago. You may want to find out where they marketed their app.

As a potential customer, I am not sure I want to "revise" memories. I like to "revisit" or "reminisce" memories. Forgive me if this is just lost on me and my late night brain. :)

This is a great and very useful small project 👏 have you thought about data export (in case the app ceases to be maintained) , zero knowledge storage (so you as dev can't see my private pictures) and finally, how's the pricing model? I would like to know if you're gonna kidnap my albums and pins and make me pay eventually 😰
