Sadly I might start applying for jobs again :/ meanwhile run my business Kingmailer as a “side hustle” ...

My main source of income (my other business), due to whole Covid crisis, not making much ...

I saw that one the other day, too. I def have mixed feelings about it :)

No one should ever have to beg for a job! That in itself is a mission statement worth pursuing.

So influencing the job market (any side of the marketplace), education, skills-building, the way biz is done, etc. are all valuable parts of the equation that should be improved.

Everything else can come from deep emotional vulnerability and should be tackled internally.

I was rejected by almost every major public tech company. And after talking to too many HRs and recruiters, I figured. They are my friends. We both have the same goal. They just helped me to realize that I am not employable by big corp. I would make a very bad employee. And I am thankful for that. That helped me to work harder and create more than I would have ever created at any corporation.

From Hoffman’s point of view (PayPal, LinkedIn) there are three different levels of scale required for a startup to succeed throughout its lifecycle. Hence there are 3 different types of creators.

The metaphor he likes to use is:

    • Marines take the beach = product-market fit >> no need for a resume just do it
    • Army takes the country = blitzscaling >> you need a resume
    • Police governs the country = manage the ecosystem >> you def need a resume :)

    What are your thoughts?
