My IH Zapier group didn't do what I hoped 😓
I created this Zapier group hoping to spark conversation about Zapier, although it has just sat there and only has 10 followers. It just barely went out of proposal status and nothing happened.
I have experience launching Zapier integrations to add on to that, (API key based ones, not OAuth2 ones.) and still seems like my software products are missing something. I registered an LLC for my parent organization Sewell Stephens LLC and am close to finally received my first payment for https://obeatow.com.
Over 4 years experience with tons of failures.

Is there something specifically wrong with Zapier that people keep making alternatives for? I've had a good experience with Zapier myself and am not aware of any issues. In fact they have an awesome developer portal for creating your own integrations for your SaaS. I have one at https://zapier.com/apps/obeatow/integrations.

Hi, I saw your post mentioning a free plan. What are the monthly quotas, and I look at Zapiers other competitors and yes Zapier is more expensive than competitors as their cheapest paid plan only allows 750 operations a month, I still think it's a valuable tool.
I think making an open-source alternative isn't an at all terrible idea for people needing something a bit more affordable and as for the Lack of support for self hosting, do you really think Zapier wants you self hosting their service, to begin with?
Also, They are probably a really busy company, so the last point also makes things more difficult, so I don't think its time to completely ditch Zapier, but your service is totally valuable.
Hi, I see your point, just didn't get the question "do you really think Zapier wants you self hosting their service". I assume they want zero competition but this is not a fairytale.
Being more affordable means more and more builders will get the opportunity to go after their dreams and build new products.
Also, there are many reasons a company would like to use a self-hosted version of Zapier.
