My inactive IH account just published an article?
Hi all,
My last activity on Indie Hackers was a year ago.
Today I had the surprise to see a new article posted from my account. A friend found it in the IH newsletter. It's a copy of an article we wrote together 2 years ago, but with different intro + illustration. Screenshot below.
I changed my account password, searched my emails for potential IH notifications, went through the IH settings...
If a moderator did this manually, I need to say:
Posting to your audience "Hey we thought you may enjoy this article published on IH in 2017". --> That would be awesome. I would just be glad you like it!
Creating a new article, making it look like I just wrote it, and posting it from my account. --> No, not cool. This is misleading and confusing for everyone.
Is this common practice on IH?
How much content is "created" like this?
How would anyone think that it's OK?
EDIT: My mistake, I did receive an email about this from Halden in April. I missed it in the middle of the IH newsletters.

My name is Halden - I'm the managing editor of articles at Indie Hackers. We recently did a complete overhaul of our Articles page. The goal was to revamp it into a more useful "how to" style hub where users could learn how to achieve various goals from marketing to budgeting to designing an MVP.
As part of this, we went through hundreds of previously published articles to find the ones that stood out as the more useful, engaging content. We wanted to republish these pieces so that they could get maximum limelight and be accessed as the good resources they are.
This included your article! And at that point, we sent you an email to the email we have attached to your account to let you know.
We'd be happy to make changes to or delete the article, whatever feels most authentic to you. But let's talk about it through the follow up email I just sent to that same account.
If there's a different email you'd prefer to use, please let me know. I'd be happy to move communication there instead.
Thank you Halden and Rosie for your replies, now I understand. I'm glad that you find the article still relevant. I'll follow up by email to propose (minor) edits about some outdated info.
