My Journey to Build Daily and Launch an iPhone App in 31 Days

Hello Everyone,

Imagine that one project you have been putting off for years. It might not be the greatest idea you ever had but its just bugging you inside that you still haven't even tried it.

I had been putting this off for many months and there was just one thing to do...

Put money where my mouth is.

So I bet my best friend that I build and publish a short video every day or I pay him a good amount of money.

And the result is that from October 1st I will be building an iPhone App on a daily basis.

I will be documenting my journey daily and will launch the app on October 31st.

I have no idea where to start so to have some support I joined Indie App Accelerator Skool Community for iPhone App Developers and Letz Scale Skool Community for Daily Content Creators.

On Day 1 (October 1st) I figured out the idea - De-Stress App - An App to Monitor and Reduce Stress.

Stress is one of the top pains for me and I think that it would be great to somehow monitor how stressed I am , what I am stressed about and perhaps get some relevant exercises to calm down.

I created a plan with steps I need to go through. And made a quick 60 second video update for Day 1 -> https://youtube.com/shorts/iefxZIVXKsw?si=kGacPOgwGxKQE9cV

Day 2 will be aimed at some social media strategy, publishing and researching. And this is where you come in...

It would mean the world to me if you could let me know in the comments - What helps you to de-stress?

    For me personally:

What helps me destress = less stimulation. Past 5pm, I naturally destress because I'm uncontactable.

I like mindfulness and breathing to anchor my mental state and bring calm into my day.

I have two kids, who I love dearly, and spending time with them calms me too.

So I guess the key is me finishing work on time so I can play around with them before bedtime. But that's easier said than done as self-employed freelancer.

Best of luck, I'll like and subscribe to you to track your journey. Consistency is key, keep it up.

Awesome tips @SEO_Potato. I think this is the finishing work on time is most underrated. Same issue as you there :)

    Good luck to you

I believe in you, it is achievable :)

Keep it up, believe in your success! Did you handle both the UI/UX design and programming all by yourself?

    1. 1

Hey @cela. Yes and on a very basic level.

  5. 2

You say you put off building the app for a long time, and you deal with stress personally. Let me just say, I can totally relate. Now you are putting both money and your public image on the line for the sake of accountability. I understand your motive. Good luck.

Good luck, if you manage to work with all these tools and release it in 1 month… you must be pretty competent to start with!

    1. 1

@MartinBaun wouldn't call myself competent in this. But have some very basic understanding. And with concentrated effort managed to do it - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/destress-app/id6736910930

Good luck to you, I think as long you believe and keep pushing, things will start to change

Hey @nopahdesigns thanks a lot. The money bet with my best friend is the best push for me now 😎

Disconnecting helps me de-stress. I can get away from my job laptop and just cuddle with my wife. Or I can take a quick shower. Showering REALLY helps me think with perspective.

Hey @marlanek - great ideas. Will try to collect them all in a single large file and then share with everyone as a side benefit :)
